Small Window Trickle Vents

A trickle vent is a very small quantify opening in a window or other building envelope component to allow small amounts of ventilation in spaces intended to be naturally ventilated when major elements of the design windows doors etc are otherwise closed.

These small openings allow air into the property. If this isn t known habitable rooms should have trickle ventilator of 5000mm2 equivalent area and wet rooms should have 2500mm2 equivalent area. Trickle vents are small openings in a window. Trickle vents have the following advantages.

These openings allow a small amount of air to pass from one side of the window to the other enabling you to benefit from the fresh air without having to open your window or door. These are small discreet plastic or metal modules that are housed at the top of a door or window frame. The frame has specific sized holes machined out of it covered by the trickle vents on the inside and outside of the window. If you re replacing windows with trickle vents the ventilators should be no smaller in geometric open area than the existing ventilators.
