In version 1 4 some vanilla styles are replaced with new high resolution textures. The diffuse texture was altered to correct for this problem. Modders have updated how characters look and added higher resolution textures among other things to put. 2k 1k versions available.

The best base texture mod is nobleskyrimmod which is on original skyrim nexus but has a download in the file section for special edition. He replaced the secondary rug textures with a new and more detailed fringe texture as well. This mod provides lore friendly high resolution textures and improved meshes for most of the rugs in skyrim. All textures were carefully overhauled to maintain the original style.

One of the sovngarde rugs needed a fix because part of fringe mask area was visible in the center pattern of the rug making a transparent line in the rug. Even after skyrim special edition there s still plenty of room to make tamriel prettier.

Now every rug has a matching normal map and every rug mesh has a different rug texture set. This mod is an overhaul and expansion of the rugs of skyrim. Instead of the default 4 rugs with repeats you will now have 8 different rolled rugs in the game.
